AGARTALA, Aug 21 (TIWN): Reacting over recently held Mizoram Govt led illegal election in Tripura’s Jampui’s few areas, indigenous leaders led by TIPRA, TPF & TUIPC have demanded immediate deployment of TSR Jawans at there along with a TSR outpost establishment to save Jampui from Mizoram illegal grabbing.Talking to media, leader Ranjit Debbarma expressed surprises how in the presence of a Govt in Tripura, neighboring state can occupy these lands ? The indigenous leaders also mentioned, many of the locals there having Tripura and Mizoram voters ID cards. Ranjit Debbarma alleged, 3 village committee members from Mizoram are existing in Jampui, which has questioned on the security factors also. However, this was protested by Tripura Prince Pradyot Manikya earlier also, but till now from Home Dept no clarification was given.

Thus united organizations today jointly holding press meet requested Tripura and Central Govt to resolve the issue.

Recently, Tripura had accepted Bru refugees from Mizoram as permanent residents and assured lands and rations to them, but even after all these, how Mizoram Govt can dare to go for illegal election on Tripura’s land, it has sterned everyone.

Royal scion Pradyot Manikya has talked to Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb and also to the SDM, Kanchanpur about this unexpected incident. A letter from SDM Chandni Chandni Chandran to DM North Tripura subjected “Careful scrutiny of Part-37 of Hacchek ST Constituency of Mizoram" was written.

The points in the letter came out : 1) Phuldungsai VC has added as a part of constituency as Zampui Phuldengsai, 2) 130 voters of Phildungsai are residents of Tripura”.

“Currently, the PWD road Kawnpui border village of Zampui hill RD Block is regarded as the boundary between Tripura and Mizoram. In Phuldungsai, the Western part belongs to Tripura and the Eastern side to Mizoram. Traditionally, Phuldungsai VC as a as a whole (despite Eastern side) belongs to Tripura. Hence the inclusion of VC as a electoral of Mizoram will be problematic”, the letter said, saying there is an urgent need of demarcation of the land to trace the boundaries.
