AGARTALA, Aug 20 (TIWN): Only 5% unemployment ? Lashing out Tripura Govt’s fake recruitment data and self-employment's fabricated claims, ANM passed out unemployed youths on Thursday have gheraoed the Director of Health Services seeking immediate job recruitments. In almost all Departments of Govt of Tripura, massive shortage of recruitment are hitting the state, raising unemployment rates, forced the ANM passed out unemployed to gherao the Director office today demanding jobs. Talking to media, the agitated youths said, when COVID-19 has hit the state along with the whole world, Tripura Govt is not taking any initiative to recruit them. An youth told TIWN on spot, “We met the Director earlier also, but it was said to us that the recruitment requesting file has been returned from the higher authority. In this situation where should we go ?” They said that from 2017 the recruitment is stopped and in last 2 and half years, the new Govt too has failed to recruit any employee in the Dept from ANM stream.

“When we studied, it was under Govt’s care. It was said that as soon as vacancies will be available, we will be recruited. But 750 passed outs are not recruited and more than 700 vacant posts are not fulfilled and we left jobless. When there will be recruitment and when new posts will be created ? If not in COVID-19 crisis, then when will be recruited ? We are jobless for 3 to 4 years”, they said.

"In 2017, September, last recruitment was advertised but the new Govt cancelled the recruitment and never started the process under new policy. Earlier, we met the previous Health Minister (Sudip Roy Barman). He promised us about recruitment too, but nothing happened. We request the present Health Minister that is CM Biplab Deb to recruit us", said an job-seeker Paritosh Das.
