Agartala, Nov 26 (TIWN): With an effort to convey the advantages of proper justice to the state people including remote rural areas, Tripura State Legal Service Authority today launched a Mobile Legal Service and Mobile Lok-Adalat Van with modern infrastructures.
Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura- Deepak Gupta inaugurated the Mobile Legal Service and Mobile Lok-Adalat Van at High Court premises, here today. Besides, executive chairman of Tripura State Legal Service Authority and Justice of the High Court of Tripura- U.B. Saha and Justice S.C. Das and Justice Subhasis Talapatra, judicial officers, lawyers and many others were remained present during the inauguration ceremony.
The mobile van bought by the allocated funds from National Legal Service Authority today started to moving different parts of the state under the direction of Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura. During the journey, the mobile van would give stoppage in the various places and would attempt to create awareness on Acts and Rights among the people through documentary films, dramas and speeches.
To dispose post litigation disputes in different areas, a mobile Lok-Adalat will be formed in the vehicle. Basic infrastructures including multiple computers need to constitute Lok-Adalat and seats for judges; lawyers and litigants are available in the vehicle. The information was provided today in a statement by the Tripura State Legal Service Authority.
It is to be mentioned here; in a function organized by the National Legal Services Authority recently at the Ashoka Convention Hall in Manikshaw Centre in Delhi, the South Tripura District Legal Services Authority was declared as the Best District Legal Services Authority in the Country.
It is pertinent to mentioned here that Chief Justice of the High Court of Tripura- Deepak Gupta being the Patron-in-Chief of Tripura State Legal Services Authority has taken significant steps for advancement of the Legal Services activities in the State. Under his direction, State Legal Services Authority has constituted a committee of lawyers for visiting the government and privately run old age homes across the State to take care of their legal needs and protection of their rights. The committee has started visiting the old-age homes and interviewing the inmates of those homes. The Chief Justice has also taken step to encourage the lawyers to take up the legal aided cases of the poor and down-trodden people.
