AGARTALA, Aug 17 (TIWN): CPI-M party has alleged that BJP Govt once again will increase the electricity tariff in state. Amid COVID-19 pandemic, without discussing in Assembly, Govt of Tripura is deciding to increase Electricity duty, putting common men in problems and in this regard a proposal was placed to the Electricity Regulatory Commission, such has been alleged by Tripura Opposition Party CPI-M. Tax-Terrors have already haunting the public including vehicle registration renew rate increased 3 times more along with trade license and other things as fuel but now with the hiked electricity tariff already people would be bound to pay 3 times more than before. CPI-M party calling a press conference has bashed the BJP Govt asking the Govt to withdraw the decision at the earliest. “On the one side, economy is already at down and then Corona-Pandemic has hit the state".

"The consumers within 400 rupees bill 5% duty has been imposed on them and for commercial 7.5% duty was imposed already in last year. It was never in our state. Our Left Govt never tried to impose duty on power to collect money. This is not right”, said CPI-M State Secretary.

"Electricity dept has bank deposit at a good amount . Various depts are not clearing bills which must be taken care of", said a top CPI-M leader.
