Agartala, Aug 14: Priyanka Sharma, a resident of Dharmanagar in North Tripura, is now on the spotlight with Sanskrit version of a Rabindra Sangeet.
The song of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore in Sanskrit version is virtually breaking the internet as thousands of people are sharing it on the social media platform.
Dr. Bhanu Sharma, former teacher of Central Sanskrit University, Agartala has translated lyrics of the popular Rabindra Sangeet -"Mon Mor Meghero Sangi" into Sanskrit while Priyanka, who is now working as a guest lecturer (Sanskrit) in Dharmanagar Govt Degree College, has given the song a final shape as Vocalist.
When she posted the song on social media, it went viral beyond imagination and also invited wide appreciation. It was then shared from a renowned Facebook page where the views crossed 2.5 lakh.
"It was my plan for long time and finally the COVID19 situation helped me get sufficient time to complete the project. I couldn't even imagine that the song will get such massive response. It's, of course, a matter of joy that the people are showering their love & tremendous supports," she said in a telephonic conversation.
Priyanka Sharma, daughter of Pannalal Sharma, is a theater artist and also involved in various forms of performing arts like music and dance.
She is also the recipient of Gold Medal from Mumbai for a Sanskrit short film on 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padao' and in Sanskrit Drama, she bagged best actress award for two times from Delhi and Kerala.
Meanwhile, the social media platform is playing an important role in promoting hidden talents of the people specially youngsters. It provides an opportunity to showcase talents and take them to larger audience. In case of Priyanka also, the important role of social media is visible.
