TELIAMURA, MUNGIAKAMI, July 27 (TIWN): In an unexpected experience, medical team faced public anger when they went for house to house COVID-19 tests in Mungiakami, Teliamura. Mungiakami villagers stopped them from entering their area for house-to-house COVID-19 tests, which created a turmoil in that area. This incident took place in Mungiakami ADC village, in Teliamura, whereas mask-less villagers made a blockade saying, “We don’t have COVID-19 disease among us and that’s why we are not wearing any masks. But, now Doctors are entering in our village which may spread Corona-Virusâ€. An angry woman said, “When Tripura Govt had ordered 3 days lockdown and stopped us from going anywhere, why the Doctors are now coming ?? We will not allow them to touch usâ€. Later, the team had to return without surveying the village or any tests of villagers.
The officials later said, they had no plan for test today, rather just doing surveys was the aim but nothing could be done as the villagers were unready to listen.
A few protesters said that Doctors will bring Corona Virus and few others said when the tests will be done through their nose, they will make enter of Corona-Virus in their bodies through their nose.
Khowai DM Smita Mol attempted to convince them and asked them, not to get confused but the villagers did not agree and continued to place their point that COVID-19 can be spread by the officials.

This incident once again has proven, Health dept’s failure led the chaos at every step of the Govt, creating massive problems for the medical teams of the state.
Amid Corona-Virus crisis situation, there is no permanent Health Minister in state, but under sacked former Health Minister Sudip Barman, awareness programming were on peak and even malaria patients were handled with awareness and force under Sudip Barman, but now after terminating him, Tripura Health dept’s condition worsening day by day.
Even though, officials are working day and night but lack of Ministry is creating everyday problems for them. Today’s incident was totally unexpected to the Medical team.
