TIWN July 15, 2020
AGARTALA, July 15 (TIWN): Although, INPT is back to form, announced electoral preparations for the upcoming ADC Election, but the party which has just now talked against the BJP and IPFT, shared photos with BJP top leaders in December, 2019 when BJP was successful to down Anti-CAA protests. Under the BJP regime, voters of opposition are often shocked and frustrated over their leaders’ changing decisions, compromising of principals. Like various leaders are nationally frustrating the voters by joining BJP, in the same way, when a regional party in Tripura INPT was on peak of popularity due to its strong Anti-CAA protests across Tripura, on that time, INPT leaders rushed to the Govt office shared dais with BJP CM, Deputy CM and leaders; and then met Home Minister Amit Shah at Delhi on December, 2019. In that meeting Amit Shah directly did never promise that CAA will not be implemented in Tripura, but still the Anti-CAA protest rows just turned down. On that time, INPT’s popularity was more than any regional party but now when ADC election is approaching, INPT is getting results of its historical mistake. The situation is also as due to COVID-19, things are totally under control of IPFT and BJP and in this condition, INPT might be facing existential crisis.
Thus question raised, whether it was a “Suicide” to go to Delhi and share chair with Amit Shah by Bijoy Hrangkhawal’s party who had formed a joint movement against CAA successfully on that time ?
How far INPT can recover its losses, only time will show, but the moral lesson comes here is ‘Political Compromise may end a Party for a long period' and the party has to wait for another issue to boost its strength.
