Fencing lined farmers’ crop damaged as borders remained shutdown

AGARTALA, July 11 (TIWN): Many farmers are facing losses due to the border remained shutdown for a long time.

Today opposition CPI-M leaders, members visited Bamutia and talked to the farmers there. While talking to media, CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar stated that even after much requests, the border was not opened due to centre’s order during lockdown, but unfortunately, even after centre had permitted, then also the farmers here, were not allowed to bring their crops and to cultivate crossing the fencing.

Later the issue was taken to the higher authority.

CPI-M said that from today statewide farmers’ reports to be taken and how the farmers are living in the state, it will come out.

The local farmers alleged that they earlier used to get various necessary things for the agriculture but now nothing they are getting. As a result, agriculture in that area has become very costly and tough for survival.
