KAILASHAHAR, July 7 (TTIWN): Heavy tension was erupted in Kailshahar subdivision’s Old Motorstand area over COVID-19 quarantine issue. Later, Health Dept has to rushed to the spot to control the situation at there. On last 3rd July , 93 persons were tested COVID-19 positive in Tripura and among them, two persons were from Unakoti District. Kailashahar Municipality Corporation had shifted the patient from Kailashahar Old Motorstand area to quarantine centre at Kumarghat Panchayat Raj Training Institute, but it took a long time to shift him after crossing few days of COVID-19 positive result. But surprisingly, there was no paper pasted in the main gate with alert of COVID-19. The locals alleged, that person met with his relatives frequently and also the neighbour homes were not quarantined which has increased the spread of the pandemic in that area. Later, on yesterday, the Quarantine-alert paper was pasted on the front door.
But, as the simple action was not been taken in time, it created an agitation by locals.
Local Congress leader Baddrujaman also expressed heavy resentment on the incident. Later, Kailashahar SDM Jogesh Reang along with officials rushed to the spot and controlled the mass anger.
