AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): ‘Tripura Human Rights Organization’ led by Senior High Court Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman has met injured Ex-BJP leader Prasenjit Chakraborty who was attacked, severely injured by BJP Party miscreants after he quitted party. Mrinmoy Chakraborty and Koushik Nath also were present during the visit, who are members of the organization. Meeting him, Purushottom Roy Barman has briefed that in life-threats, Prasenjit Chakaraborty had installed CCTV cameras in his home but the miscreants on 3rd July not only broke the cameras but took all the hardwares from his home. Purushottom Roy Barman has condemned police’s role, saying, under the previous Govt also, the role of police somewhere were not satisfactory whereas now, it has worsened. In last 24 months, state has seen tremendous violence, public properties were lost, people were injured, murdered.

“Home Dept has totally failed to upheld the fundamental and democratic rights of the people. Prasenjit Chakraborty dedicated for his party but recently he was criticizing few of his party leaders for wrongdoings. He was given warning and threatened. Police were informed about everything, but repeatedly, Prasenjit Chakraborty was attacked but police failed to give him protection. He was attacked, his home was vandalized, looted”, said Purushottom Roy Barman.

Senior BJP cum RSS leader, who was almost as the founder leader of Tripura BJP Prasenjit Chakraborty, resigned from party on 2nd  July, announcing to start his own party in Tripura. Soon, after the announcement, Prasenjit Chakraborty faced violent attacks today in his own home at Agartala on 3rd July. Earlier also, before resigning, Chakraborty was heavily attacked.
