Agartala, Nov 21 (TIWN): The Investigating Officer (IO) of multi-crore Rastriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) scam today submitted charge sheet against the accused persons in connection with forgery of official checks and misappropriation of RMSA funds under the Directorate of School Education.

During investigation it is revealed that accused Arnab Chakraborty by forging the signature of authority withdraw an amount of Rs.11, 72,000 through a single check relating to which investigation is completed. Investigation processes relating to other checks are undergoing.  Sangita Chakraborty, wife of Arnab and Kajal Rani Chakraborty, mother of Arnab are also involved in this case.

While submitting the charge sheet before the Court, the IO has prayed for custody trial of accused Arnab Chakraborty and Sangita Chakraborty today. Further investigation is under progress and supplementary charge sheet will be submitted in the due course of time. This refers to West Agartala police station case No.156/14 u/s 403/468/471/477/409/420 (b) IPC and Section 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act.  

It is to be mentioned here; the Additional Mission Director of RMSA had filed an FIR against Treasurer Arnab Chakraborty for misappropriating department’s fund at the West Agartala police station on September 05, this year. Later, police had arrested the multi-crore scamster Arnab from Kolkata on September 14. Thereafter, the police taken him to the custody as per Court’s order and interrogated him.

After the preliminary investigation, police found three names of RMSA- Ambalika Datta, Dilip Kumar Debbarma and Biswarath Debbarma. But surprisingly, police did not arrest them till date. At a point of time, 120(B) section of Indian Penal Code was added in this litigation, said a source.
