AGARTALA, May 20 (TIWN): Although Tripura Government in 2018 promised to boost business by smoothening roads by increasing VAT and by reducing fuel and maintenance costs with a sophisticated roadways, but so far the results remained same and the pathos of the daily goers continues to haunt. In case of Agartala bypass road the situation rather worsened in last 2 and half years, alleged the regular goers. Specially in monsoon, the journeys become more risky, giving a huge challenge for the daily travelers with time, fuel consuming journeys. This journey is no less than a Roller Coaster journey for the passengers whereas more dangerous situations are expected in the upcoming rainy days when muddy roads becomes too slippery increasing chances of accidents.Whereas in North, Unakori District the roads left in miserable shapes, talking to an auto driver at Agartala bypass, he said, “Our vehicles are almost unscrewing and my auto is breaking day by day”.

A biker said, “I used to go by autos but from 2 and half years, there is no maintenance in the road. It has forced me to go by bike. In auto, it is very physically painful to cross the roads due to jerking and also it take almost an hour to reach my destination”.

The regular goers have requested the Govt to look after the road, so that their expenditure and pains can be reduced.

Assam-Agartala National Highway is left in deplorable situation as the road has turned risky after thieves looted the bricks from the road. Anytime the connectivity by the National Highway (NH-8) may stop due to this criminal activity. Lack of police observations are causing such unwanted problems for the travellers and also the State Govt. In the upcoming monsoon, the situation may be worsened due to the pathetic roadways conditions. Various national highways are already left in miserable condition due to lack of maintenance.

Pathetic condition of National Highway (NH-8) was reported by TIWN on Thursday in Kumarghat-Pecharthal route, causing massive suffering to the common men everyday.

Reports say that the present condition of NH-8 (earlier NH-44) from North Pabiacherra of Kumarghat to Pecharthal which is the life line of Tripura is now in miserable condition and due to few splashes of rains the situation is more worsened. Daily goers are majorly victimized of the situation and with the monsoon onset, there are high chances of risk-increasing on the national highway specially for the two wheelers.
