134 stranded people returned Tripura from Bangladesh : All sent for Institutional Quarantine, COVID-19 tests for all abroad returnees

AGARTALA, June 18 (TIWN): At least 134 stranded people have returned Tripura from Bangladesh today via Akhaura Checkpost. As per Tripura Govt’s guidelines, all of them to be gone through COVID-19 tests and to stay in Institutional quarantine till tests’ results come. In Camper Bazar street centre, the arrived persons has been quarantined. Tripura’s COVID-19 cases have reached to 1133 whereas 556 patients were recovered and 1 died and 1 committed suicide in GB flu centre. Lockdown, which was necessitated due to COVID-19 epidemic worldwide, made lakhs of people stranded in various corners of the country for months. Later, under initiatives of various State Govts migrant people had departed for own State and the process is still going on. Tripura Law Minister Ratanlal Nath in a press conference on Tuesday has announced that total passengers came to Tripura-34,635, gone from Tripura-33199.

However, the number to be now increased with the new arrivals. The Minister also announced that Tripura’s testing is at higher rate than the national testing rate and the situation is also developing a lot here in compare to the many other States. He also asserted that Tripura’s situation is improving in fastest manner, but also suggested people not to break lockdown protocols for that.

The active cases status in Northeast is – Arunachal Pradesh : 92.30%, Assam: 47.63%, Manipur : 80.13%, Mizoram : 99.48%, Sikkim : 92.64%, Meghalaya: 38.63%, Nagaland: 50.28%, Tripura : 59.41%.

In Tripura testing has been done 12309 numbers, whereas at national level the rate 4184.
