Tripura COVID-19 Cases at a rapid rise

AGARTALA, June 1 (TIWN): Tripura’s COVID-19 cases are increasing massively with 34 new positive cases have been tested in Tripura. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb will be visiting two Districts – Khowai, Gomati on Monday to check the quarantine status and medical care status of the areas. On yesterday, all the COVID-19 positive cases were tested among Chennai returners. Out of 633 samples had been tested for, 34 people found positive. On Saturday, more total of 798 samples were tested, out of which 17 were found positive for COVID19. However, there is no report of any death in Tripura due to COVID19 infection while 3 cases migrated from the state. Chief Minister Biplab Deb has announced about sample collections and tests of all returnees to state. The state government is taking initiatives to test the samples of all coming from other states.

However, Tripura Govt has preferred Home Quarantine for all returners (except abroad cases). Citing Kerala COVID-19 Health model, Tripura Law Minister Ratanlal Nath on Wednesday has said that even the so called model state Kerala has made Home Quarantine mandatory and the persons going from other states, must be in Home Quarantine according to the Govt’s law there. 

Chief Minister Biplab Deb will visit Quarantined areas in Gomati and Khowai Districts today.
