AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): BJP has celebrated an event by displaying banners after India and Bangladesh signed a joint project to start water-ways connecting between Tripura and Bangladesh.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb earlier threw a challenge that big ships will come via Gomati river in Tripura’s Sonamura, which erupted massive criticism but he claimed that by digging the river and making it deep Ships will be arriving in Tripura by next few months.
However, CM promised that by 2019 November, December the ships will be arriving but at least after crossing deadlines, the deal was signed.
Today holding a programme, the BJP said that Chief Minister’s dream is fulfilled today and the ultimate fulfilling of the project will be once the ships will be launched in that water-route.
“It will play a crucial role in economic backup of the state”, said a BJP leader, adding, “The communists could never think about such economic angles”.
However, although ships could not arrive, but Indo-Bangla is deal done for Sonamura Port. It will be the first port of Tripura for economic purpose.
