Agartala, Nov 18 (TIWN): Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is all set to celebrate the birth anniversary of Late Indira Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India in a big way across the state on November 19. To mark the occasion, the main celebration will take place at Congress Bhavan in Agartala.
On the occasion, Tripura opposition Leader- Sudip Roy Barman, TPCC leaders, workers, supporters and others would recall Late Indira Gandhi and would pay tribute to her at Congress Bhavan 8 am on tomorrow. After paying homage, they would move to Gandhighat and would offer respect to her.
On the other hand, MLA Gopal Roy will distribute milk packets among the poor people of different localities under the 9- Banamalipur Assembly Constituency including Asram Chowmohani, Lal Bahadur Chowmohani, Jagahari Mura, Kalyani.
Besides, Late Indira Gandhi will be remembered by the all district level, sub-divisional level and block level congress committees throughout different programmes all over the state.
Similarly, Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) and Congress Seva Dal will also recall the former Prime Minister of India- Late Indira Gandhi.
Indira Gandhi was born Indira Nehru in a Kashmiri Pandit family on November 19, 1917 in Allahabad. Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi was the third Prime Minister of India and a central figure of the Indian National Congress party.
