AGARTALA, May 15 (TIWN): Total 13 patients were released from the GB hospital today after they were tested negative. Yesterday also many patients were released from the hospital and right now in the GB hospital 50 patients are under treatment. Talking to media, Dr Pradip Bhowmik said that due to Doctors and Medical staffs continuous breathless struggles, situations are developing fast and hopefully Tripura will become a COVID-free state again and the fight has to continue until defeating the pandemic. Dr Pradip Bhowmik is hoping that soon the AGMC block (GB hospital quarantine centre) can be freed from the patients and Govt’s other centre’s too. While departing, the recovered patients were congratulated by clapping and staffs from all corners of the hospital clapped together. As per guidelines, the released patients to be kept in 14 days quarantine. A central team is also visiting the state, said that Health Dept’s arrangements are quite satisfactory.

Right now total 50 patients are in GB and as per the last information given on yesterday’s press meet by State Govt total 64 patients in Bhagat Singh Yuva Awas, 1 in Shalbagan.

Total persons under personal surveillance 15,382, Facilitating quarantine 334, Home Quarantine 2759 (to be increased due to stranded people’s arrival schedules), Sample collected 12,535 and tested 11,804, positive 156.

A three-member central team arrived here on Thursday to study the coronavirus infection among the Border Security Force (BSF) troopers and their kin, as the positive cases in Tripura climbed to 152. The team has expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.

The central team, led by G.K. Medhi, Professor and Head of the Department of Community Medicine of the Shillong-based North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS), will study the source and other aspects of the coronavirus infection among troopers, officials and their family members.
