AGARTALA, May 9 (TIWN): Lockdown is maintained more tightly with increasing numbers of COVID19 cases in State. Right now, Tripura’s COVID19 cases are 116. Strict action has been taken against the people who are not wearing masks in Tripura. Police and Administration are jointly working to ensure COVID19 related laws’ proper implementation. Unnecessary goers were also restricted and physical distances are mandatory. The administration, state police have started imposing fines for not wearing face masks in public places and any workspaces. At first charge the fine is Rs. 100 whereas it will increase in each committed mistake. People can even use a handkerchief or any other loose cloth to cover the mouth and the nose. Actions have also been taken against spitting, urinating. This is being made compulsory in an effort to stop the spread of Covid-19. Strict actions will be taken if laws are violated. Tripura’s COVID19 cases are spiking up crossed hundred on yesterday.

COVID19 which was earlier limited within the BSF, now started infecting the Civilians after a truck driver was detected positive who was in vehicle number TRO1-AH-1922 and his sample was collected at Churaibari Checkpost. Chief Minister Biplab Deb has said that the driver has been quarantined at Churaibari. CM announced, “30 persons found #COVID19 POSITIVE in Tripura today. 25 persons from 86th-Bn #BSF, 4 family members from 138th-Bn #BSF & 1 truck driver. PushpinTotal #COVID19 patients in Tripura now stands: 118, Right-pointing double triangleActive cases: 116, Right-pointing double triangleDischarged: 02. Stay Safe” !Tripura Govt on the other side, directed BSF IG to provide information about COVID19 patients and cases. The information was sought for : 1) The origin of the cases, 2) Steps taken by BSF authorities to further prevent spread of Corona virus to general public.

It was the same place where on May 1st, two positive cases were reported from 186th Bn. As soon as the two persons were taken to GB hospital, Health Dept brought suspected COVID-Positive persons in quarantine immediately. The many among 86th Bn were also tested positive and right now, 2 battalions are infected in COVID19.

Earlier on May 1st, two patients were tested positive in Tripura's 138 unit of BSF at Ambassa and then quarantine and sample testing process started. The first two patients who were in Dhalai District hospital from 26th April to 1st May were tested positive after bringing in GB hospital. One of them was attendant of the BSF officer, who was said as the main carrier of the virus, came to Tripura on 11th March from Assam, but the primary source of the virus goes clueless yet as he was in Tripura from March 11.

Totaling all, Tripura now has 118 cases and among them 116 are active.
