New COVID19 Centre announced with 300 bed capacity at Bhagat Singh Youth hostel

AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): Chief Minister Biplab Deb has announced to convert Agartala's Bhagat Singh Youth hostel into a 300-bed COVID19 treatment center.

With this new centre, GB and IGM hospitals arrangements also to remain functional.

The Bhagat Singh hostel to be under GB hospital’s supervision.

In a tweet CM has announced, “We have decided to convert Agartala's Bhagat Singh Youth hostel into a 300-bed COVID19 treatment center & it will be under GB hospital's supervision. Now in Agartala total beds for COVID19 treatment stand at 410 (GB hospital: 80 beds, IGM: 30 beds, Bhagat Singh: 300 beds)”.

Tripura’s total COVID19 cases till now is 88 whereas active cases are 86.

However, till now, no civilian is infected in COVID19 and all are from BSF 138 and 86th Bn.

Chief Minister Biplab Deb via twitter on yesterday night alerted State that 22 more fresh cases were reported in Tripura as COVID19 positive, triggering public caution allover the State. All the 22 persons are either BSF unit staffs. All were residing under 86th Bn at Ambassa (Dhalai District). Earlier, in 186th Bn on May 1st, two positive cases were reported first.
