AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): Education Minister Ratanlal Nath has given an epic reply to the 10323 teachers after they announced to move Supreme Court with a ‘contempt petition’ against Education Director and 3 more officers for keeping science graduate teachers jobs and terminating the 10323 teachers. Replying media queries, the Minister said that indeed he will be happy if the teachers file a contempt petition against the officials. Nath said, if necessary Govt will help the teachers financially to fight the legal case in Supreme Court as ultimately, State Govt wants to save their jobs. Ratanlal Nath further said, “There is no point of heating up the market, when High Court, Supreme Court both have terminated the teachers”. Nath further said, State Govt has already appealed in the Supreme Court to appoint these 10323 teachers in non-teaching posts where many unemployed youths also can apply as there are huge numbers of posts. He asked the teachers to wait for Supreme Court's hearing on the petition filed by Govt of Tripura for 10323 teachers ' alternative livelihoods.

Tripura’s 10323 teachers have decided to move to Supreme Court against 3 officials of the State Govt with allegation of misleading Supreme Court’s verdict and keeping science graduate teachers’ jobs secure.

On yesterday via a press meet, addressing media, the 10323 teachers said, ‘First of all, the old academic year was not ended but we are said terminated, which is illegal and against court’s order. We asked Education Director U K Chakma whether this 2019-20 academic session is ended or not, but he could not give any reply. But still we are said as ‘terminated’. The Supreme Court verdict has various sides which could not be understood properly by such high officials or intentionally they misinterpreted the verdict. That verdict was totally misled. The officials had been giving wrong explanation of the verdict before CM and other Ministers. Thus, already we talked to a Supreme Court lawyer in this regard. 2012’s science graduates names are also there in the termination, but neither they were terminated nor put as ad-hoc teachers”.

“We have evidence that we share a same verdict with science teachers. But they are secured in their posts and Dept is giving clarification that by mistake their names were given, but in High Court verdict it clearly says that they are also affected. We have proofs”.

“We have more evidences but will not mention those things now. But we are moving to Supreme Court to file case against Dept’s officials”, added the teachers.

They said, Principal Secretary, Education Secretary, Education Director U . K . Chakma, Legal Committee head Narayan Debnath’s name are in the contempt petition list.
