Tripura Govt to pay Rs. 10 lakhs to family, if any Frontline Warrior dies in COVID-19

AGARTALA, May 8 (TIWN): Tripura Govt will pay Rs. 10 lakhs to family of the deceased of Front Line Warriors, Chief Minister Biplab Deb has announced. Earlier Tripura Govt had announced to pay Rs. 4 lakhs to the victim families of COVID19 patient if s/he died in the pandemic but now CM has introduced new scheme paying Rs. 10 lakhs to the Front Line Warriors of State if dies. In the warriors Health workers along with Doctors, media, police personnel are listed. CM on yesterday also announced to solve migrant workers and stranded people’s problems. CM has announced that the State Government has decided to send 33 thousands of workers stuck in the state by trains at own expenditure, which will cost Rs. 2.5 crores. The state government is also arranging to bring back the state citizens who are stuck in Bangalore and Chennai through two trains. In this case also full cost will be carried from CM Relief Fund. The people of Tripura have not to pay to return state. On the other side, stranded students from Kota in Rajasthan have returned state.

Total Active cases in Tripura are 86, a massive rise in the BSF camps.

On yesterday, CM announced, 24 persons from 86th-Bn #BSF Ambassa found #COVID19 POSITIVE today. Total #COVID19 patients in Tripura now stands: 88. Active cases: 86, Discharged: 02 There is no POSITIVE case among civilians”, adding, “Stay Safe”. Tripura has now  total 86 active cases as COVID19 positive.

All were residing under 86th Bn at Ambassa (Dhalai District). It was the same place where on May 1st, two positive cases were reported from 186th Bn. As soon as the two persons were taken to GB hospital, Health Dept brought suspected COVID-Positive persons in quarantine immediately.

Tripura Govt on the other side, directed BSF IG to provide information about COVID19 patients and cases. The information was sought for : 1) The origin of the cases, 2) Steps taken by BSF authorities to further prevent spread of Corona virus to general public.
