AGARTALA, May 7 (TIWN): Terminated 10323 teachers have alleged that they did not receive Chief Minister Biplab Deb announced Rs. 35,000. The teachers said, in case of taking the money, teachers have to commit on paper but what was that commitment have not been announced by the teachers. They said, that commitment was sought by Education Dept. The teachers said, they never sought any such amount but it was State Govt which had announced that. They further claimed that their jobs have not been gone according to law but a section of officials are misleading the verdict. Also the teachers to file a contempt petition against 4 officials in allegation of misleading the verdict from the beginning and to raise question, how science graduate teachers jobs can exist in same recruitment when 10323 teachers are terminated ?

The 35000 was announced by CM for 10323 teachers as compensation during COVID19 pandemic. Tripura’s 10323 teachers have decided to move to Supreme Court against 3 officials of the State Govt with allegation of misleading Supreme Court’s verdict and keeping science graduate teachers’ jobs secure.

The 10323 teachers now said, they have evidence that the science graduate teachers were also terminated from the posts. Addressing media, the 10323 teachers said, ‘First of all, the old academic year was not ended but we are said terminated, which is illegal and against court’s order. We asked Education Director U K Chakma whether this 2019-20 academic session is ended or not, but he could not give any reply. But still we are said as ‘terminated’. The Supreme Court verdict has various sides which could not be understood properly by such high officials or intentionally they misinterpreted the verdict. That verdict was totally misled. The officials had been giving wrong explanation of the verdict before CM and other Ministers. Thus, already we talked to a Supreme Court lawyer in this regard. 2012’s science graduates names are also there in the termination, but neither they were terminated nor put as ad-hoc teachers”.

“We have evidence that we share a same verdict with science teachers. But they are secured in their posts and Dept is giving clarification that by mistake their names were given, but in High Court verdict it clearly says that they are also affected. We have proofs”.

“We have more evidences but will not mention those things now. But we are moving to Supreme Court to file case against Dept’s officials”, added the teachers.

They said, Principal Secretary, Education Secretary, Education Director U . K . Chakma, Legal Committee head Narayan Debnath’s name are in the contempt petition list.
