KHOWAI / AGARTALA, May 7 (TIWN): State Home Dept has decided to deploy Tripura State Rifles (TSR) Jawans in borders for tight security to stop illegal entries in state via India-Bangladesh border. This decision was taken after massive outbreak of COVID19 in BSF 138 Bn in Tripura’s Ambassa subdivision of Dhalai District. TIWN visited Khowai border areas where TSR jawans were deployed in sensitive areas. Across the state, similar steps likely to be taken, so that no sensitive area can be used as loopholes of illegal entries. For state’s safety, TIWN would not disclose the names of the sensitive areas where TSR Jawans are being deployed, neither the number will be disclosed. SP Kiran Kumar visited the areas to check the arrangement and whether the jawans are working properly or not. Amid rainy, stormy weathers, the jawans are working over the borders day night.
Right now Tripura’s COVID19 cases are 64 and active cases are 62. Tripura's COVID19 active cases spiked up to total 62 in spite of Govt's measures. In another breaking news consequently, Chief Minister Biplab Deb via twitter alerted State that 22 more fresh cases were reported in Tripura as COVID19 positive, triggering public caution allover the State.
All the 22 persons are either BSF unit staffs. All were residing under 138th Bn at Ambassa (Dhalai District) where on May 1st, two positive cases were reported. As soon as the two persons were taken to GB hospital, Health Dept brought suspected COVID-Positive persons in quarantine immediately. CM announced, “22 persons from 138th-Bn #BSF Ambassa found #COVID19 POSITIVE today including 18 Male, 1 Female, 3 Children. Total #COVID19 POSITIVE cases in Tripura stands at 64 (2 already discharged, so active cases : 62). Don't Panic, Govt is working vigilantly”.
