AGARTALA, April 9 (TIWN): Tripura Govt in a swift move to contain COVID19 crisis, today allocated Railway bogies in Agartala Railway Station as alternative Isolation location if numbers increase, then triggered ESMA Act (Essential Services Management Act) so that misinformation from Govt Employees donot trigger panics, only Secretary level officer can release COVID19 information. In a shocking move, today Health Secretary issued show cause letters to protesting Nurses at GB Hospital who protested lack of supplies. Also Chief Minister Biplab Deb visited GB Hospital and announced that State Govt has enough COVID19 supplies. amid COVID19 Pandemic outbreak and first positive case was tested in Tripura, tension prevailing across state. Sudden action against 18 Nurses over their legitimate protests for COVID19 supply sent shockwaves among Govt Employees, Doctors to all Health Officials to shut their mouths.

Even after Health Secretary's announcement of enough COVID19 supply, Health Dept staffs are at the same time remained panicked, as PPE didn’t reach yet at enough number led a protest in GB hospital. At the same, Chief Minister Biplab Deb along with Deputy CM Jishnu Debbarma yesterday conducted a meeting with higher officials at Secretariat amid COVID19 pandemic and discussed about the preparedness of the Health dept in this regard.Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar, Doctors and top officials remained present in that meeting, submitted reported, discussed updates and problems about COVID19 outbreak.

 CM chaired meeting  yesterday on how the state is going to tackle the situations, erupted due to COVID19 outbreak has been discussed for long time. Also, various other departments’ ongoing status was also briefed in that meeting, said a source. Police Dept’s high officials remained present in that meeting. 

AMC, Urban Development Dept and Food Dept have taken initiative to reach the needy people with dry ration and cooked food as 21 days lockdown have affected their livelihood.

AMC Commissioner Sailesh Yadav has marked excellency in organized Food Distribution programme, Mask production initiative.

Statewide PPE’s crisis was felt erupted resentment among the Health Staffs. In an agitation yesterday, the sisters and other medical staffs said, “There was no plan for protest today, but when we have seen the media persons, we have rushed here to address the Govt and the people about the insecurity we are undergoing. Our demand is PPE which is the utmost important equipment now. Also, there is proper toilet and proper arrangements are no existing. We are undergoing lots of problems. Sanitizers and masks nothing have been given to us properly. The masks according to rules can not be wore beyond 3 hours but here we are using it for days after days. When no proper equipment is there, the corona patient has been kept in the middle of the hospital area".

"According to guideline, the isolation ward should be in distance but surprising, the location of Corona patient is just in the middle of the hospital which is violating the given guidelines. That is why we are insecure”, said the protesting staffs yesterday. 

"Whenever we are going anywhere, we are not allowed to enter or go close. In Health offices also same treatment is going on with us. But there is no proper facility given to us. Nobody is ready to talk to us", said the agitating staffs yesterday .

"We are also humans. Don't take tests of our tolerance", added the health staffs begging for their PPE again and again.

 In the midst of State Govt's all out efforts to contain COVID19 spread, few irresponsible medias like tripurainfo.com (owned by Jayanta Debnath) published FAKE news that total 17 COVID19 cases in Tripura, TIWN (tripurainfoway.com) informed  State            Govt about various FAKE news propagation and stern action against these erring medias. 

Today in a Press Meet, Minister Ratan Lal Nath condemned this web media  tripurainfo.com for publishing FAKE news on COVID19 numbers.

TIWN Editor Saumen Sarkar appealed to Public to co-operate with State Govt  in this time of crisis, follow State Govt  directives cutting across all Political differences.
