AGARTALA, Feb 28 (TIWN): In an administrative drive SDM Ashim Saha visited various kitchens of hospitals and restaurants, alleged, unhygienic food inside them.

Food Dept and other Depts’ officials were also present during the visit across the city.

Visiting GB Hospital, SDM Ashim Saha said that GB hospital's foods are not good, low standard. He said, few raw vegetables were found but these are not even qualified for cows' food.

He said, the canteen is very dirty and the oil is also poisonous and unhygienic.

“The staffs have no care of hygiene, neither they cut their nails. Patients come here to get recover but people will fall sick after eating such foods”, he said.

The canteen was shutdown and SDM said, legal action will be taken against the owner. The canteen will be opened once they can serve proper food for the patients and fines to be imposed.
