AGARTALA, Feb 22 (TIWN): Lashing out newly formed claimers of indigenous lovers, regional parties, GMP President, former Minister Jitendra Chowdhury on Saturday hailed the previous Left Govt for preserving indigenous culture and language.
Chowdhury said, if Left Govt was not ruling in Tripura, then tribes’ Kokborok language would have been vanished.
His claim gets a logic when statewide the previous Left Govt had started massive campaigning for Kokborok and started free 6 months Kokborok diploma for Govt employees and others. Also Kokborok for higher studies were also created, scripted the language.
Jitendra Choudhury was addressing in GMP convention when said so.
Nevertheless, he mentioned among all the backward section of people the schedule tribes are most backward in India and now they are severely attacked due to Modi Govt’s anti-tribal moves.
