AGARTALA, Feb 20 (TIWN): When West Bengal Government led by Mamata Banerjee has announced all types of facilities in hospitals like treatment, diagnostics, and medicines all are free, Tripura Govt has scrapped Free Medical Service, giving a glimpse what is going to happen in Bengal if BJP comes in power at there. In addition, FREE treatment up to Rs 5 lakh in private hospitals is also made available to 7.5 crore citizens of Bengal under Swasthya Sathi scheme.

Criticising the BJP Govt, CPI-M said, under Left Govt treatment was almost free of cost and Govt was aimed to make it 100% but the new BJP Govt's inhuman decision of stopping free medical services is just "shocking".

Inhuman scrapping of Free Medical Services failed to upgrade Tripura’s health services rather, GB like hospitals’ dialysis machines left non-functional. Patients are dying without proper treatment as maximum cases are recommended to go to private hospitals due to unavailable facilities in the Govt hospitals. Almost all critical patients are suggested to go to ILS or outside private hospitals by Govt doctors which is however not possible for 95% people. At the same time, ruff behavior of the staffs continue, fueled by massive Doctors’ crisis situations in Govt hospitals. From bed crisis to medicine crisis have hit the patients parties, many are bound to take back patients as they are unable to bear the medical expenses. Many patients who suffer from multiple diseases are not even seen by doctors properly, neither suggested tests whereas the same patient when shifted in a private hospital, many diseases are discovered. Thus, for poor people, quality health service has become impossible. Yesterday, news reports have shown how critical patients are left without dialysis whereas one part which was functional are recommended for hospital staffs known people or politically recommended people.

In case of ICU also when political pressures come then the patient gets ICU or any medical staffs, specially doctors’ family members, relatives are getting the first priority, alleged many patients who are bound to sleep on medicine ward’s floor or bed although patient is critical, needs an ICU care.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb, whose state is suffering due to pathetic health services, people are dying without treatment, hunger, poverty gripped state, was seen enjoying a musical event at Delhi.

When Biplab Deb was criticizing the Kejriwal Govt question raise, whether Biplab Deb’s health service even qualify at the feet-level of Delhi Govt’s free, quality health service ?

Yesterday, a patient who was suffering from shortness of breath, a kidney patient was left without dialysis. When patients call in GB hospital, they recommend private hospitals.

This situation developed after former Health Minister Sudip Barman was sacked from Ministry and Biplab Deb took charge.

Biplab Deb who is now in Delhi for poll campaigning, had talked for privatized Govt hospitals, snatching public rights for free medical service but what is going on inside the GB hospital only the patient parties know.

However, the Chief Minister does not have time to visit GB hospital and other Govt hospitals, although infamous for luxurious lifestyle at public expenditure in this poverty gripped state. His family members securities are also costing lakhs of rupees which are paid by public money.
