AGARTALA, Jan 22 (TIWN): Is Biplab Deb’s involvement in Cancer Drug Scam, involvement in massive Tender scam for giving projects to handpicked agencies rather than following Tender process, so the questions being raised whether Biplab is heading towards future jail term for involvement in corruptions like convicted former CMs Madhu Koda, OmPrakash Chouthala While raising serious allegations against Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s dept, BJP MLA Sudip Barman said commented in addition, “Previous no incident should haunt us back….”. Barman’s this statement turned local media headline as right now in a politically motivated case against former CPI-M Minister Badal Chowdhury without any evidence also, he is kept in jail till now completing 75 days.

But when in Badal Chowdhury’s case the allegation was just for “cost plus” and BJP Govt claimed that due to the cost-plus, Tripura faced severe losses during PWD bridge construction, in case of this allegation against Biplab Deb the whole thing was done without calling tender ?

In case of Badal Chowdhury only 10% was paid to outside companies although after approved by the cabinet but in case of Biplab Deb how without tender such a big project was given to a handpicked company from outside, whereas it has too caused huge revenue losses to the state.

Sudip Roy Barman not only exposed BJP Govt’s handpicked agency tender-allocation by violating norms in illegal way for national highway projects, but also suggested his own Govt to look after such matters so that Central Govt gives projects to PWD only which will help the Govt to earn revenue in a better way, instead of imposing massive taxes on common men. Tax burden state with 13% revenue income hikes under BJP Govt has literally put the common men in trouble with various tax hikes. Sudip Barman in his Assembly speech has added this point too and raised question, when the Govt is having zero tolerance to corruption, how State PWD’s funding was stopped by handingover projects to NHIDCL ?

In reply, Chief Minister’s response was unsatisfactory and almost meaningless. Out of Rs. 450 core’s 9% revenue could come.

The issue was raised after during a debate among ruling party leaders in the Assembly, corruption was exposed after MLA Sudip Roy Barman raised question about handing-over of PWD projects to NHIDCL without any tender caused Rs. 450 crores of corruption.

Addressing at the Assembly, MLA Sudip Barman said, “My basic question is, whereas from 2015-16, 2016-17,2017-18 FYs continuously we were conducting the national highway construction, maintenance works by State PWD, but what suddenly happened in 2018-19 after our Govt formed that in an urgent mode, the tenders were handed over to other NHIDCL without tender which is causing massive revenue incomes ?”

Barman said, “When for these works around Rs. 20,000 crores were to be come from the Centre, it is causing massive losses to the revenue generation chances. The National Highway projects have caused Rs. 450 crores of fishy deal.

“Govt can not violate the rules like this. Even if the Govt wants to give it to the private sectors then also norms should be followed. When our Govt’s intention is very clear that ‘No Tolerance’ against corruption. Then why are these happening ?”, said Barman.
