AGARTALA, Jan 10 (TIWN): When Political violence statewide has hit the law order, Chief Minister Biplab Deb seems enjoying with silent role, although the Home Dept is under him. Being the Party President, RSS trained Chief Minister although failed in departmental works and development, yet immature in speech deliveries but excellently manipulating administration, police machinery to attack the opposition. Reacting over Narshingrah Party office attacks and loot of moneys at there, CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar asked BJP next time instead of loot ask CPI-M to donate some moneys. CPI-M Party has organized a massive rally in Agartala in protest against party office burning in 3 spots. The 3 party offices are : 1) Narshingarh, 2) AD Nagar, 3) East Agartala zonal office. The last incident with AD Nagar took place after a successful strike was organized by the Leftists in Tripura and public gave massive response to it. With petrol bombs, the party office was burnt along with rate books.

Today Manik Sarkar visited Narshingarh CPI-M’s burnt party office after he visited two more party offices in last two days at AD Nagar and East Agartala zonal office of the Communist party.

Tripura getting space gradually in national media for BJP era’s violence history : This incident unexpectedly covered by big national TV channels, although generally Tripura remains out of national media limelight. Moreover, for Tripura such violence and attacks by ruling party is no more surprising.

Recent Court order against Police’s biased role : While anticipatory bail of CPI-M leaders was given, a lower court has questioned on police’s role and its biased investigation against opposition activists. Justice Udit Choudhury has commented on police’s activeness to save BJP activists whereas they first attacked in that rally on January 19, 2020. Also court raised question on police’s role during the rally and he termed the total incident a political incident. CPI-M leaders have got bail who were falsely arrested after a rally in Belonia which turned peaceless. Belonia Police had allegedly acted in totally politically biased manner filed a suo-moto case against CPI-M local top leaders, arrested and via court sent them to jail. Reportedly, against total 19 activists (both CPI-M, BJP) FIR was lodged and among them 9 are CPI-M. CPI-M local leader Arup Saha and Pradip Majumder were arrested and sent for 14 days jail custody, now got bail.

Since inception of coalition government a role of terror prevails across the state and the BJP Government continues their post-poll violence to suppress the voices of oppositions.

The BJP under the rule of CM Biplab Deb continues perpetration of violence on their opposition CPI(M). The Communist, Congress even BJP’s ally IPFT supporters, workers, leaders are facing violence of BJP in the21 months of their rule indicating the undemocratic attitude and functioning of the ruling party. The police and administration fails to protect democratic rights of political parties and the government has utterly failed to ensure peace in the state. In the face of aggressive BJP activists, government employees and police forces are effectively reduced to “mute spectators”.

The BJP Govt is trying to establish one-party rule in the state using muscle power and taking steps to silent opposition voices.

When Tripura stands 4th in crime against women, increasing rate of violence and unnatural deaths has increased at an alarming rate in the state, the Tripura CM who claims that the state is on the right path of development, remains mum.
