Court rejects police's remand plea : Arrested Tripura Congress youth activist over Facebook post gets bail

AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Jan 5 (TIWN): In an expected judgement and major blow for Tripura BJP and its slave police, Court has rejected police remand plea in Arindam Bhattacharjee case who was arrested on yesterday night from his home by West Agartala Police over an anti-BJP facebook post. He got interim bail on 9th January.

Police arrested him after one Victor Shome, who is BJP media cell head filed a case in West PS.

Arindam didn’t put any objectional thing in facebook, rather expressed concern of hacking if they call in BJP’s given missed call number which is given even by various frauds, Netflix offer and beauty girls.

Advocate Arindam Bhattacharjee said that this case is a new funny incident in legal history when ahead of hearing I/O added fresh IPCs. Police demanded 5 days remand for Arindam. But Court has rejected the plea and gives bail to Arindam Bhattacharjee.

On yesterday night, Congress leader Subal Bhowmik wanted to convince police to release Arindam as he was arrested in a false case but SP told Subal Bhowmik that he found legal base in the arrest.

Today Arindam was produced before Court with huge numbers of security forces and reacting over it Gopal Roy, Congress leader said, this is condemnable to produce a youth without any issue like a terrorist.

At last in a huge defeat for Biplab Deb and his party, Arindam got bail.
