AGARTALA, Jan 4 (TIWN): 20 minutes Rally delineated a lot of things to the people of Tripura. People of every section, despite of caste, creed and colour joined the apolitical rally called by Ex-Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman. Contributors of Rally joined hands to fight against the increasing Crime against Women irrespective of Red, saffron or any colour of their political Parties. Journalists, Artists, Lawyers, Doctors along with heaps of Common men walked together in the rally. Friday the city flooded with Sudip Barman supporters. Participants came with Indian flags in hands and umbrellas amidst cold and rain.

At the same time, the people who are victimized in the BJP era, have marked the rally as “Start of an End”.

While addressing the Media at the Rally Roy Barman said,” Could all the badmouthing , removal of banners, and warnings stop the people to come”? He also added, “ I did not provide any vehicle for the people to come”. On being asked about which political party did the people belong? Barman answered, he himself doesn’t know who and from where they are! It’s an apolitical Rally for all the Sisters and daughters of the State.

Amid BJP led various attacks to sabotage MLA Sudip Roy Barman’s rally, people gathered in multitude at the apolitical rally organized as an awareness campaign to decreased crime against women. Various hurdles were created by CM Biplab Deb’s supporters not to join Sudip’s Rally. Starting from house to house warnings, to removing of banners and posters, threatening over social media, vehicle abandoning were done by BJP activists to demoralise the people and restrict them from joining the Rally. Also to counter the rally they organised rally prior to Sudip Barman’s rally, forcefully bringing women luring them with cash and food without letting them know the actual reason behind the rally.

Political situation in Tripura witnessed a massive slowdown as CM Tripura and his companion jumped on with full power to derail Sudip Barman’s “non-political” rally against rising crime against women in the State. Also BMS was asked to call strike so that people from outskirts could not join the Rally. But it could not help out.  With these once again it’s proven , how Biplab and company are afraid and uncertain of their future in Tripura’s political history.
