AGARTALA, Jan 3 (TIWN): Before Lok Sabha Election, Tripura CM Biplab Deb promised that within few months Tripura to get ship-ways but as more than a year crossed, Congress raised question, where is the much promised ship ? Congress also asked when DA is pending, 50000 Govt jobs resulted in removal of die-in-harness.

The party slammed Modi’s fake promise of “double engine”.

Reacting over the increasing commodity prices, Congress leader Harekrishna Bhowmik has hit the Modi Govt for excessive increasing prices of commodities and LPG price hike, along with Railway passenger fare from the day of New Year 2020.

Bhowmik said, this is a gift from the Modi Govt on new year whereas commodity price hikes, joblessness and poverty all are connectedly ruining country’s economy.

The Congress leader said the hike in natural gas prices will have a spiralling effect on the prices of other items, thus hitting the pockets of the common man and farmers, in addition to the burden of daily rising petrol and diesel prices.

The Congress spokesperson said the hike comes at a time when the economy is in shambles.

"Is this a fair New Year's gift to the common man, Congress thinks it is not," he said.

Given the state of the economy, given the condition of unemployment, the Congress had hoped that the Modi government will give some respite to the common man, but it has acted on the contrary, Harekrishna Bhowmik said.
