AGARTALA, Jan 2 (TIWN): Crime against women have been multiplied in Tripura under the BJP era and justice delays in maximum cases, specially if the accused is a BJP activist. Tomorrow, BJP MLA Sudip Barman has called a rally not against Govt but against increasing crimes and brutality in the society against women. Tripura’s brutal gang-rape incident on September 24 night in a jungle near Usha Bazar which had horrified the whole nation, had been trying to influence politically at best to suppress the investigation since Day-1 when 3 police stations did not lodge FIR of the rape victim after one BJP MLA allegedly threatened police officials not to lodge FIR after the rape incident took place. Public later were shocked to see BJP MP Pratima Bhowmik who just have delivered an unlawful statement which she can not give by raising at the authenticity of the Gang- Rape victim’s statement.

10 persons led Gangrape victim was still hospitalized when Pratima Bhowmik first said, “There is almost no similarity between the rape victim’s statement and actual incident”, then immediately rectifying herself she said, “Actually light unmatched. So, I want, police should do the proper investigation and I know police will do !”  All the rape accused are BJP activists, police produced them before Court by covering their faces.

Not even a month has passed that allegation raised against BJP spokesperson cum Ramesh H.S. School teacher Subrata Chakraborty for sexually harassing a 15 years old girl student, then FIR was lodged against BJP’s State Secretary Amit Rakshit for torturing his wife physically and being drunk all the time, which was leading massive troubles in the family. Reportedly, after the FIR was lodged, Chief Minister cum BJP State President Biplab Deb himself involved with Amit Rakshit to hide the whole issue from media and police were too instructed to keep the secrecy.Allegation raised, calling the victim at CM's residence, Deb himself asked her to withdraw the FIR. However, the issue didn’t go much ahead.

BJP’s political ally IPFT too I not lagging behind. A case was registered at West Agartala Women Police station against one IPFT MLA in Tripura torturing wife physically at home.Earlier, legal allegation raised, that IPFT MLA Dhananjoy Tripura has raped the girl in fake promise of marriage. Then the MLA filed in High Court demanding bail, but High Court rejected the plea.

Later being bound under law and legal problems, he had to marry the victim but soon after marriage, physical tortures started on her.In this case, the victim, now has accused the MLA and his mother for domestic violence.

Thus a rally will proceed on 3rd January from Agartala Rabindra Bhawan premise at 11 am and Sudip Roy Barman has called all sections of people to join the protest and raise voice against Crime against Women.

The BJP MLA has called for a protest against nationwide increasing rapes and crimes against women. The MLA is BJP’s sacked Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman (he was terminated after questioning on Law & Order), stated, one can not sit at home anymore keeping silence and in mute-mode as times for patience have crossed. He has announced a massive protest on 3rd January 2020 demanding ‘safety for women’.

He said, it should be New Year resolution that no woman should remain unprotected.
