AGARTALLA, Dec 24 (TIWN): Tripura BJP’s future looking bleak as party lost its popularity as cheating masses with promises ranging from free smart phones to ‘miss-call Jobs’. As over 80% BJP supporters are originated from Congress party who were working as anti-communists, BJP’s concern increases as nationwide party is shrinking. Thus, Celebration of BJP’s collapse in Jharkhand is in full wave Tripura, specially gatherings are observed before Congress Bhawans. It is to be mentioned, BJP is standing on all ex-Congress top leaders and activists and already leaders, activists have started to rejoin Congress from the BJP party again.

However, when Congress is celebrating the victory, Tripura CM Biplab Deb was seen tensed about Communists’ increasing base and asked karikartas to take responsibilities more seriously across the booths.

Reacting over the Poll result direction of Jharkhand which is almost set to outcast Modi wave, a senior Tripura Congress leader said that this is a major starting point of BJP's drown in India. Addressing media, the Congress leader said that it was a time when in the name of Modi people were blind but today the same person and his party are exposed, hated across nation.

Home Minister and BJP chief Amit Shah has said the party respects the defeat in Jharkhand assembly elections as the people's mandate and thanked the state. As it became clear that BJP was dealt a major blow with the Jharkhand assembly election results, Amit Shah said on Monday evening, "We respect the mandate given by the people of Jharkhand. We express our heartfelt gratitude to the people for the opportunity given to BJP to serve the state for 5 years. BJP will remain committed to the development of the state. To all the workers who worked tirelessly, I would like to extend my gratitude."

On the other side, the footprint of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the political map of India shrank further on Monday as it lost power in the tribal state of Jharkhand where the opposition alliance led by the Jharkhand Mukti Mocha looks all set to form the next government with a comfortable majority.

In March 2018, the BJP was in power in 13 states across the country on its own while it ruled six other states in alliance with other parties. After its loss on Monday, the BJP now rules eight states on its own while it is part of the ruling coalition in an equal number of other states.

However, the bigger loss has been in terms of area as the BJP, either on its own or in alliance with other parties, ruled nearly 70 per cent of the total geographical area of the country in March 2018. This now has come down to 34 per cent.

The downward spiral for the BJP began last year with losses in politically crucial states of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. While it lost by a small margin in Rajasthan and MP, the party suffered a humiliating defeat in Chhattisgarh. The BJP had ruled both MP and Chhattisgarh for three consecutive terms before it lost power to Congress in December 2018.

In October this year, the BJP lost power in Maharashtra after its pre-poll ally Shiv Sena broke the alliance to form the government led by Uddhav Thackerey with support from the Nationalist Congress Party and the Congress.
