AGARTALA, Dec 5 (TIWN): Alliance at risks of BJP-IPFT’s in ruling political partnership of Tripura as compromising with Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) for sake of powe-factor alliance with BJP will be the ultimate suicide for the IPFT party which is rooted for indigenous people’s rights and demands. Earlier back in January 2019, protest over CAB ended with police firing on students at Madhav Bari whereas IPFT youths have announced they will not sitting silently if CAB is passed in the Parliament. Two IPFT Ministers NC Debbarma who is also IPFT President and Tribal Welfare Minister Mebar Jamatia who is IPFT youth icon but became controversial due to his extreme close relation with BJP National General Secretary Ram Madhav—both the Ministers are in trouble who were many times asked by other regional parties to resign from Ministry to save the community.

Youth IPFTs while agitating against proposed Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) said on Tuesday that IPFT will not be sitting silently if their 5 demands are not fulfilled. They staged protest in Khumlwng demanding Tipraland, NRC, no CAB, Reang community’s PRTC, Kokborok in Roman script.

IPFT is in alliance of BJP with two cabinet Ministers. The regional party has staged a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar today demanding a separate Tipraland for the indigenous people with ADC area.

However, in 20 months old aligned Govt ruling BJP and IPFT came in massive fighting in uncountable numbers.

What RAM MADHAV said ?

BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav on Thursday said that the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill was a commitment given by the party to the persecuted minorities from Afghanistan-Pakistan-Bangladesh, hitting out at the "bleeding hearts" who were complaining about the bill.

"It was passed by the last Lok Sabha but couldn't reach RS and lapsed. A revised bill is coming. Upholding India's tradition to shelter the persecuted in the neighbourhood," he tweeted.

The Union cabinet on Wednesday gave its nod to the bill which seeks to grant citizenship to non-Muslim refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan if they faced religious persecution there.

"For all others about whom the bleeding hearts' are complaining, Indian citizenship laws are there. Naturalized citizenship is an option for others who legally claim Indian citizenship. All other illegals will be infiltrators. No country in the world accepts illegal migrants," he said.

INPT’s PROTEST against CAB

Massive protests have been instigated across Tripura, specially in the ADC areas where INPT has called a massive protest voicing against Citizenship Amendment Bill which has however erupted huge protests allover India. At the Baramura route the National Highways have been restricted by the protesters. This massive protest has blocked transport movements, Railways to National Highways all have been halted with slogan of “Narendra Modi Hai Hai”. INPT Secretary Jagadhish Debbarma said, “Although INPT is a party which works only for a particular community unlike CPI-M or Congress which work for all Indians, but we think this protest is not only of INPT or any Community. It is a protest of all Indians. If someone is true Indian s/he will surely protest against it. CAB will not only effect the demography but to bring impact on the socio, economic sides too”.Protests over Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) has hit national highways and railways in Tripura as the INPT is launched a massive protest here.

The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, or CAB, that was cleared by the Union Cabinet on Wednesday, is set to be tabled in parliament in the ongoing Winter Session. Among the provisions that have been proposed is one that allows the government to cancel registrations of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders who violate provisions of the Citizenship Act, "or any other notified law". The draft version of the bill also exempts parts of the Northeast, which has witnessed widespread protests, and will make it easier for non-Muslim refugees from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to become Indian citizens.

The redrafted Citizenship Amendment Bill will likely exclude 3 states in the North-East out of its ambit besides the tribal areas in as many as three other N-E states.

This comes in the wake of Union Home Minister and BJP President Amit Shah meeting in Delhi with nine representatives from four organisations who are strongly against the Bill.

Three northeastern states -- Arunachal, Nagaland and Mizoram -- where the Inner Line Permit (ILP) regime is applicable will be out of the purview of the CAB that created a political row in the area in the run-up to the 2019 general election, reported a prominent news agency.
