“The excuse of numbers of students is not acceptable. If within per kilometer schools are not located, how poor students will study there ? The Educational environment will also be affected”, said Acharjee.
With all these DSO has demanded the Govt of Tripura must withdraw the decision of shutting down of schools. A protest was staged before the Education Dept.
On October 25, Tripura Education Minister Ratanlal Nath has announced to shutdown 961 schools by merging them with other schools in the name of "Quality Education". This decision was taken when thousands of unemployed youths are roaming jobless even after qualifying the TET Examination.
