AGARTALA, Nov 6 (TIWN): Although since INA’s commanding under freedom fighter Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, women became soldiers for the soil of India, but Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb while addressing at Pragna Bhawan on Monday in a programme where safety of women and crime against women were discussed, he commented that Women are known for sources of power and they need not to go to the battle field.
He cited example, how Sita in Ramayana saved herself just by keeping a Durba grass before Ravan and how Droupadi saved her from Kouravas.
He mentioned, women are not meant for battle-grounds, but they should be sending men to the battle-field like Droupadi.
“Never women went for battles but their power must be enable men to fight against crime against women like Sita and Droupadi”, said CM.
His statement came when so many lady Police officers were listening to him and keeping Durba-grass and inner power to save herself from rapes is a dangerous comment delivered by CM.
Deb further stated that crime against women has decreased drastically than the previous Govt’s times.
