AGARTALA, October 29 (TIWN): High Court on Wednesday had instructed the Government to produce the audit report of the multicrore scam of Bishalgarh and the Investigating Officer, to submit the case-diary on the next day of hearing on November 24th. However the High Court also instructed that “If the Filing of PIL and other steps are merely the process of political campaigns and influence, then the Court will not spare the petitioner.†On the basis of the filing of PIL by both the Trinamool Congress and Congress, Court today started the hearing under the bench of Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Gupta.
At first the petitioner of Trinamool Congress, Arun Chandra Bhowmik, urged the Court to put a stay order on the ongoing investigation. But, the Court did not reply to this, nor taken any decision.
Further the petitioners from Congress appealed to make special audit by Comptroller and Auditor Genera(CAG) under remaining blocks. In reply, the Hon. Court told that, there is no necessity that if one block is corrupted, so the remaining is. In addition there is no such evidence against this also.
However the High Court had asked the reason for delay in filing FIR to the Government and also instructed to present before the Court in the next hearing on 24th November with positive reply. Apart from this the investigation officer was also instructed to present on 24th with case diary. The Court also said that, if these filing of PIR were done to upgrade the party’s popularity, then necessary steps should be taken by the High Court in this respect. Finally the Court had mentioned that arrangement of press meet at Court premises is not right, and proper action may be taken against this. It is to be mentioned here that, this remark would led the Congress party in a swinging position.
Earlier on the basis of the filing of PIL by the Tripura Pradesh Congress, the tentative date scheduled for the hearing is set up on Wednesday. On behalf of the Congress the case to be prosecuted by the two renowned advocates from Kolkata .Earlier, a delegation of Congress led by Opposition Leader- Sudip Roy Barman Monday filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) at Tripura High Court seeking CBI probe into the MGNREGA scam worth Rs 50 crore in Bishalgarh RD block. Before that, Congress alleged that state police are lagging behind to conduct an impartial investigation into this multicrore scam and only CBI can make a breakthrough in this case. Surrender of main culprit, Bimal Chakraborty before the court was nothing but an attempt of match fixing to safeguard the main accused persons.
