AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): In a protest over the gang-rape incident at Usha Bazar took place on Sep 24 and Police’s negligence to lodge FIR of the victim, CPI-M while agitating before City Centre on Saturday asked Tripura Police whether they don’t have mothers and sisters at home ?

“Why a rape victim has to run one after one police stations after raped by 10 animals to lodge a complaint ? Where is humanity standing today ? Why did nobody from Police officials understand the victim’s physical pains ?”, question raised by CPI-M.

The party leaders also asked, whether Tripura doesn’t have the zero-FIR system where any major incident will be registered immediately when complain comes and later to be transferred to the appropriate police station, specially in rape cases ?

The ongoing protests across the state is aftermath a gang-rape incident took place on Sep 24 night where a lady was kidnapped, gang-raped by 10 rapists but police didn’t lodge FIR when she visited nearest police stations.

This negligence of police has led suspension of at least Police officials for ‘not’ lodging FIR into the matter when the victim family complained about the brutal incident in multiple police stations of the city. The two police officials have been identified as (1) West Women Police Station ASI-Sita Debbarma, (2) AD Nagar PS ASI Santi Tripura.

The matter was disclosed when the rape victim was admitted in TMC hospital in critical condition and media, opposition leaders started visiting the hospital and the incident spread throughout social media.

The opposition CPI-M has alleged a ruling party MLA forced police officials not to lodge any FIR which has led the whole consequence, demanded arrest of the MLA too.
