AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): Tripura Congress’s recently resigned President, Royal scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya today has confirmed media again that he is no longer a member of Congress party and thus his President-post automatically dropped.

Briefing media, the Royal scion said that he wanted to constitute a fresh committee where women will also get enough spaces but nobody inside the Congress party agreed with him, adding, “This reason can be marked as the chief reason for my resign, where I was not given a free hand”.

“Outside I will be lecturing, promising people all tall claims but in reality I will not have any right to take decision for the party, these together can not happen. Thus, for lack of transparency, I have resigned. I am not saying I am perfect but for me transparency is important while in politics”, said Manikya.

He added, “I never spoke against AICC leaders as Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi but I only spoke against the state Congress’s mean ways of handling the party and few corrupt persons”.

Pradyot Manikya further rubbished the ongoing whispering about him that he is meeting various national political leaders at Delhi.

On being asked by media whether his resignation was not accepted by AICC President so far, Pradyot Manikya replied, “This issue does not raise as I quitted my primary membership. If I had resigned from President’s post, then it was up to the acceptance of my request by the national Congress chief but as I quitted from the primary membership, so, issues like access for granting resignation doesn’t come. Thus, there is no question of remaining as a State President as I quitted party”.

It's important to mention here, the former Congress President did not betray his party as before 1 day of resigning he asked people to vote for Congress's Badharghat candidate Ratan Das and he didn't resign till Badharghat election ended.
