AGARTALA, Sep 26 (TIWN): Statewide massive agitations have escalated demanding suspension of police officials of four Police Stations who allegedly misbehaved with gang-rape victim and her family, denied to lodge FIR. The FIR was lodged after 24 hours when the incident was leaked to the opposition and the media, followed by opposition leaders visit in the Govt hospital. Congress set in massive protest today evening before the West PS as this Police Station also denied to lodge FIR based on pressure from the ruling party MLA. Congress demanded immediate suspension of the police officials who were on duty for not helping the victim, neither took the victim to hospital. It later after her admission, opposition and media came to know about this rape horror. So far, 6 out of 10 persons were arrested but police neither have shown their faces. 6 accused identified as 1.Radhab Das, 2.Pradip Das, 3.Ajoy Saha, 4.Dipak Debnath, 5.Priya Manish Roy, 6.Bishal Das. No police official was suspended so far.

Congress displayed banner, “Save my Dignity, You’re your daughter”. Opposition CPI-M has also held a Jungi-michil voicing against the brutal gang-rape and police’s no-cooperation with the victim family.

6 accused persons by covering faces were produced before the court today : 1.Radhab Das, 2.Pradip Das, 3.Ajoy Saha, 4.Dipak Debnath, 5.Priya Manish Roy, 6.Bishal Das.

The survived rape victim admitted in hospital, described media how brutally she was raped and each rapist raped her 2-3 times after she was taken to a jungle in a pre-plan way via an auto. The auto driver Pradip was known to her and often she hires it. On Sep 24, when she was returning from GB hospital due to rain, she called that auto driver for life and almost after half an hour he reached.

When the auto was expected to go to Arundhuti Nagar (victim’s home) and driver Pradip took the auto towards Nehru park. When she asked, the driver said, a person will give him money and he just need 5 minutes but as soon as the driver reached near Nehru park and called someone in phoned named Santu. Then two men came and sat in the auto and pressed her mouth.

The auto ran in high speed and entered a jungle crossing Usha Bazar and then she could not recognize the spot. She was threatened to be murdered on spot and brutally gang-raped her.

After rape, she was thrown on the street on Agartala at Circuit House, from where she managed to call at her home with help of public, said the victim.

The victim family alleged that at first went to AD Nagar PS, the NCC PS, the West Agartala PS, then West Women PS but no police station lodged FIR. When she was admitted in TMC hospital, the news spread and then East Women PS lodged FIR.

The opposition party leaders visited the hospital, met the victim family including former CPI-M CM Manik Sarkar, Congress leaders. The CPI(M) party alleged that a ruling party MLA (without taking name) is threatened police not to lodge FIR and demanded arrest of the MLA too. Today BJP leaders also visited the hospital and met the victim.
