BISHALGARH /AGARTALA, October 27 (TIWN): Multi-crore MGNREGA scam star BDO Bimal Chakraborty has once again sent to 5 days of police remand. Today at around 1.30pm police produced scam star BDO cum Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's favourite TCS officer before the Court of the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate(SDJM) Purander Prasad Pal.

Bimal was assisted by his lawyer Saradindu Chakraborty. After five days of police remand the police said that they need more time to go deep into this case . And considering the importance of this case APP Sisir Chakraborty appealed 5 days of police remand against  Bimal  Chakraborty.
Meanwhile the multi-crore MGNREGA scam today took a new turn as Congress submitted Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the High Court demanding CBI probe. Many in the CPI(M) camp including Minister Bhanu Lal Saha and some other top brass in the CPI(M) leadership are now worried about their future with this massive scam. It is now assumed that after the Central Committee meeting when Bimal's Godfather Chief Minister returns to Tripura, he and Bhanu Lal will sit in a marathon meeting to discuss the legal procedures in this case.
It is learnt that Saradindu Chakraborty had a long argument with the prosecution lawyer while claiming for Bimal's bail. Defence lawyer also put the blame upon the incumbent BDO Bishalgarh block Das for his delay in lodging the FIR. The defenceawyer even said that incumbent BDO did this with malicious intention. The details of the Internal Audit Report was also produced in the court. After going through a very long argument the Magistrate granted 5 days of police remand. So much important the MGBREGA case is that SDJM himself typed the order copy while sitting in his closed door chamber.
