BJP Govt finds 518 years old design of ancient Tripura Sundari temple design ‘tasteless’, to give ‘Lotus’ shape

AGARTALA, Sep 18 (TIWN): Constructed in 1501 year by Tripura King Dhanya Manikya on the holy ‘Kurmapitha’ hill in ‘Ek-Ratna’ design mimicking a very simple cottage like stature at Tripura’s capital Rangamati (now known as Udaipur) Tripura Sundari temple’s design could not get an appreciation from the BJP Govt.

Various BJP leaders, central Ministers visited the state and also worshipped at the temple amid media and public gathering. Indeed PM Modi on April 8, 2019 broke the rule of the temple as he was not told by the State Govt that at 2 pm temple’s door remains close and PM Modi worshipped breaking the resting hour of the Goddess’s temple’s rituals.

All these criticisms ended but what Tripura Govt is now going to do without talking to various communities in the state has triggered resentments.

The Govt reportedly started to plan a new design for the temple premise and designed a lotus like structure which will cause various demolitions of structures and also according to the model there may be few water containing designs on the hill but it will be a direct physical attack on the hill, which is believed as a living God in the form of “Kurma” (tortoise).

The decision of the Govt has triggered massive resentments among the people. Matabari is already a world-famous spot and public suggested instead of putting BJP’s lotus symbol on the Matabari’s heart by destroying the existing structure, Govt can focus on other tourist spots.

The new move likely also to change the colour of the temple which has been deep red always.

Now the question is, di the BJP Govt find the temple design as so tasteless that it has taken attempt to change the whole shape ?
