AGARTALA, Sep 18 (TIWN): Imposing fees in Govt hospitals causing massive distresses across Tripura. From admission fee to all other existing free facilities in medical services are now charging in the Tripura Medical College hospital (TMC) along with other Govt hospitals in this poverty gripped state. TMC started the process from Monday which have shocked the regular patients. TMC was such a hospital, providing medical services at very low price with high facilities, affordable for poor people but due to BJP Govt's inhuman decision of scrapping free medical services TMC is becoming heavy costlier for the patients. A news report covered by "Channel Din-Raat" revealed that in the TMC hospital public are slamming the BJP Govt asking, “If we have to give fees in the hospitals amid tight economic condition what is the benefit of the Govt ? The previous system of fee medical service was affordable for us. Why people voted this Govt ?.....all are now resenting ! There is no point that the Govt should stay in power, when it is taking all decision at the cost of public losses”. A patient party who came from Bishalgarh said, they are very poor but earlier there was no registration fee and now Rs. 20 they are giving before entering the hospital which was kept for their returning vehicle fare and now they have to walk miles and miles while returning from the TMC to home.

“We want our previous facilities should be given back or the Govt should step down. Not only admission fee but for each test and service which were earlier free now have to pay. What should we do ?”, said a woman.

“There is no MGNREGA work. Govt is not providing any work to us. In this situation, it has imposed high charges of fees. How will we survive ?”, said a patient party.

“For poor and middle class people this Govt is just pathetic. GB hospital’s incident and deaths of people really shocked us”, said another woman.

Tripura Govt imposed massive fees on Medical Services on the condition of BPL families can get free services but have to register under Ayushman Bharat insurance, which is run by failed private companies under the authentication of the Central Govt

Major section of poor, middle class people are suffering due to Govt’s imposition of fees in the hospitals. Recently one patient Pramod Modok died in GB hospital after his family could not pay Rs. 10,000 for his operation.
