AGARTALA, Sep 17 (TIWN): Tripura Congress has accused BJP for destroying Indian economy by affecting states, alleging “India is right now under Bankruptcy”. Addressing media at the Congress party office, Congress leader Subal Bhowmik said, “The bankruptcy of the country was followed by economic slow-down, GDP slowdown. When former PM Dr Manmohon Singh handedover the charges to the new Govt after 2014 Lok Sabha election winning of BJP on that time GDP was above 10%. India clocked 10.08 % growth under Manmohan Singh's tenure but today it is below 5%. Out of 5 economic pillars 3 are totally demolished under the BJP-rule. The damaged pillars are as Manufacturing which was 12.3% in Manmohon Singh’s time but today below 1%. Production is totally stopped. Big, big companies are on the verges of destruction and people are losing jobs fast. Textile Industry is on the verges of destruction and 50 lakhs textile employees are going to be terminated in the coming one year”.

“Thus we urge the people of Tripura to vote for the change which will a give a national message and strength to the suppressed voices”, said Bhowmik.

He also accused CM Biplab Deb for breaking model code of conduct everyday by declaring new projects. Congress has sent complaint to the Election Commission of India against CM.

Source informed Congress also sent the crime records and arrest warrants against BJP MLAs like Ram Prasad Pal asking ECI to stop them from election related works.

The Congress leader further criticized the Govt for suppressing media voice.

“The Govt is attacking media by misusing political and administrative power. Govt started ESMA law but Law Minister Ratanlal Nath also protested against the ESMA but against Minister’s wish it was passed”, he added.

Congress has asked the ruling party not to take attempt of any type of rigging or to create suppression on the masses. Congress also talked to the Election Commission authorities in state and centre.

Taking about BJP’s candidate for by-election, Bhowmik said, Congress has no problem with BJP’s candidate but it proves what type of betraying and dishonest party it is which deprives real kariyakartas.
