AGARTALA, Sep 16 (TIWN): BJP Govt's multiple anti-people decisions by immature, arrogant politicians turned 18 months old Govt highly unpopular across Tripura. After former Congress to BJP turncoat Ratan Lal Nath's foolish steps with Education Dept, TET teachers recruitments, victimizing 10323 Teachers issue to now scrapping free medical services in State Govt Hospitals. The latest anti-people decision of scrapping free medical service has done the final damage followed by other taxes imposed on the public like cess on fuel, road-tax, electricity bill hikes. Opposition parties CPI-M and Congress’s base further strengthened as resentment of public centering the Health Dept decision is fueling up not among the common men but also major section of ruling party supporters. Tripura Govt has failed to restore 100% Free Medical Service in the Govt hospitals leading massive resentments.

This unfortunate decision against APL families depriving them from free-medical-service generated no-trust situation on the State Govt as APL families covering 80% to 90% of the population here and many poor are not having BPL cards in this poverty gripped state yet.

A senior doctor has written an article how many people from APL families come to GB hospital who are neglected by the family members and also there are various patients which various problems which can no t be generalized as APL and BPL. Opposition Congress, CPI-M have demanded 100% restoration of the service at the earliest.

Since September 6 a Govt notification scrapped all Free Medical Services, statewide protests took place and many people deprive of medical service which included ‘death’ of a lower-middle-class man named Pramod Modok in the GB hospital, although Govt later  denied the charge and clarified that the whole notification was leaked which was never implemented. It was just a draft with few typing errors.

Although State Govt claimed that Paresh Modok died as doctors could not take him inside OT due to high BJP but video footage of deceased’s wife, GB hospital junior doctor’s statements clearly said due to lack of money for operation and medicine purchasing Modok died.

CPI-M, Congress are organizing statewide massive protest across Tripura, rattling the BJP Govt.
