AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Sep 15 (TIWN): “Tripura Health Dept’s imposition of taxes on the patients should be recorded in Guinness Book, it is equal to Mughal’s Jizya-tax and British’s Nil-Tax on the Indiansâ€, said, Congress leader Gopal Roy to media while propagating for Congress candidate in the Badharghat by-election campaigning. Gopal Roy said, after election, there will be Durga puja but Congress is not going to stop movement against scraping of Free Medical Health Service. “If free and fair election is held then Congress is going to win this by-election but the Govt seems has no courage to conduct a free and fair election. The BJPs are mad now and adopting illegal means to win the election. At the same time, people are frustrated. Nobody is supporting this decision of the Govt. It should be recorded in the Guinness book, surpassed Mughal’s Jizya-tac and British’s Nil-Tax. But, Congress will stay in the field to protest against this inhuman decision of the Governmentâ€, Roy told media.
“Scrapping of Health Service is the Kala-Aain of BJP Govt. We will come in the field again and again. For 10,000 rupees a person was deprive of medical service in the CM’s constituency. This is a matter of shame”, said Gopal Roy.
“A patient has told the Doctor don’t give me oxygen as I can’t give Rs. 50 per hour. This is the sentiment of the people of Tripura. So, ofcourse Congress will win the election and Ratan Das will be the winner”, said Gopal Roy.
Gopal Roy’s statement came against Tripura Govt’s brutal decision of scrapping free-medical-service which has created massive resentment against the incumbent BJP-IPFT Govt. It is not only an unfortunate decision taken by the existing Government, but also a political blunder committed of ruling Govt by depriving all APL families from free medical services who are covering over 80% to 90% of the population.
