AGARTALA, Sep 13 (TIWN): Crime Queen Pratima Bhowmik led massive rigging in 800 plus booths in West Tripura Lok Sabha seat is darkest spot in Tripura’s Election history. After 5 months of the mass rigging, finally Supreme Court has issued show-cause notice to Election Commission based on a petition filed by Tripura Congress against 11th April 2019's massive rigging. On April 11, 2019, viral videos of public’s hue and cry, tears, screaming of insulted voters came in media after they failed to cast votes in the West Tripura Lok Sabha constituency. On that day hundreds of people left severely injured, over thousands’ houses were burnt, girls were assaulted in front of booths and booth capturing was open, viral in social media in West Tripura constituency led by Tripura’s most controversial, notorious background MP Pratima Bhowmik. Her lust for power and money which exceeded Election Commission guidelined Expenditure resulted in the first ever “massive rigging” experience in Tripura’s history altering the trend of Tripura’s 90% peaceful voting rate into 100% Rigging-State.

Money power of Pratima Bhowmik also enabled police, TSR and security forces’ forceful removal from election zones and all happened against the wish of Police Headquarter and proof of it came soon when the MP was seen threatening IPS officer Kiran Kumar (who was trying to be honest with his duty) in Hindi, “Tereko Abhi hum maar dalega” (at night 2 pm) when the cop tried to control BJP’s bike riding hooligans who were attacking house to house. When total re-election was supported by Returning Officer for 433 booths’ how ECI conducted only in 168 booths rigging, SC now wants to know the reason. SC has issued show-cause notice to EC.

On that time CPI-M, Congress all went to SC, Central, State EC but immediately no justice was received.

On that time, Congress leader Advocate Pijush Kanti Biswas announced, “We will go to Supreme Court and ask, is not there any institution in India where opposition and common men can get justice ?”

The case has recently heard in the SC and SC notified EC about the mass rigging issue and also asked why only 166 seats were considered for re-election ? Congress leader Subal Bhowmik, who was the Congress candidate for the election today informed media that EC is unable to justify itself in the Supreme Court till now and Congress hoping a total re-election in the constituency.

However, in the re-election also EVM malfunctioning was reported in many booths and Pratima Bhowmik told openly media, “Don’t worry, all votes are going to Lotus and Modi ji”.

Addressing media today, Subal Bhowmik said, “I myself was present in Supreme Court during the hearing. Supreme Court has asked Election Commission how it was made possible that RO sought reelection in 433 booths and only 168 booths were reconsidered ?”

“Election Commission has tried at the Supreme Court to justify, unable to answer the queries in proper way. Now, we are hoping that within a year the reelection may be conducted again”, said Bhowmik.
