BISHALGARH / AGARTALA, October 27 (TIWN):BDO Bimal was most favored officer of CM and from the level of a Cabinet Minister to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's residence, Bimal had exclusive access without permission. But now even his family members are worried of his security under police custody. The reason for such concern has arisen after four employees from the state secretariat straightway reached him in the lock up in Bishalgarh Police station in the afternoon of 23rd October by a white colour Maruti Van TR01N-0388 with the red-colour 'Secretariat' logo on it. A police official of Bishalgarh Police Station told TIWN on Sunday night," They went to him(Bimal) and handed him four pages. I don't know what it was about but at that time there was no police authority in P S ,not even O C Kanti Lal Baidya."A highly placed source closed to Bimal's family told TIWN over phone," Now his wife and other members of the family are scarred of his safety. How can people go to meet him in the absence of O C and his lawyer? If indeed, suspension order was to be handed over to police, it could have been easily done at the Police Headquarter(PHQ) ,Agartala. And no one from the Govt or Police made it clear as to what purpose did the four officials go to him?" However, officially those four persons told that they went there to hand over the suspension order of Bimal Chakraborty issued by R P Datta, Addl Secretary, Govt of Tripura.Among the four employees a Gr D employee namely Prasanta Ganguly, known as Ganguly Babu. It is suspected that instructions from top level Melaramth Brass were sent to him through these officials to befool the people.

One of his relatives(on condition that his name won't be revealed in any way) told TIWN over phone," It is no surprise that Bimal has always been very close to CPI(M) leaders but there is no denying that if Bimal did something illegal, he will have to pay for it. But one must think that had Bimal looted Rs 17 or Rs 50 crore whatever it may be, he would have left his TCS job and could have gone elsewhere to lead his life in luxury. The lions  share of this money was consumed by top level CPI(M) leaders including some ministers (Bhanu Lal one of the top suspects) as well and now the sword is being out on Bimal's shoulders. Really we are scarred that to suppress the truth, the culprits involved in this scam may do anything "

       Even a section of Melarmath now wants that if the PIL is indeed submitted by Congress, CBI must look into the matter and find out who are the big fishes who looted MGNREGA money. But even within the CPI(M) whispering is on that to keep themselves safe, the powerful leaders may even endanger the life of Bimal Chakraborty.

New suspense in the multicrore scam of MGNREGA under Bishalagarh R.D.Block. Total amount of money looted by the then Block Development Officer Bimal Chakraborty, his godfather, Bhanuda  and other comrades exceeds to Rs 50 crore, instead of earlier reported 17 crore.So, instead of 17 crore multicrore scam, it is now 50 crore multicrore scam.A special audit had been done by the Tripura Pradesh Congress in the Kolkata’s AG Department (Headquarter of Eastern Region), where the secret of Rs 50 crore was revealed. With all these scam documents and Accountant General's report, Congress would file PIL for CBI enquiry in the High Court on Monday.
