Agartala, October 26 (TIWN): Few aerators among the 10 which were set up in the Kalyansagar lake for the procurement of the aeration of water became nonfunctional today. This certainly raises questions on the quality of the aerators provided by the officials for the lake.

Earlier, a meeting of Matabari Temple Advisory committee was held in the conference hall of DM’s office under the supervision of Sub-divisional District Magistrate, Ajit Debnath, and District Magistrate Sonal Goel. In the meeting it was decided that Aerators will be used for water aeration which is required in water bodies that suffer from anoxic conditions, when oxygen concentrations become low, anoxic conditions may develop which can decrease the ability of marine life survival.

Other than that it was also decided to ban on use biscuits and puffed rice by visitors coming to Matabari temple. However, the committee taking into consideration about the vendors selling biscuit and puffed rice can sell fish feed to the visitors which will be provided by fishery department.

It is to be mentioned here that, a large number of fishes had died in Kalyan Sagar Lake at Matabari.

Temple due to some unknown reason. In   the morning some villagers of Matabari GP saw some dead fishes floating in the lake. Immediately the news of death of fishes in kalyan Sagar Lake spread among the local people and created tension among the localities. SDM Udaipur comes to know about the incident.

He immediately instructed official of fishery department to look into the matter and find out the real cause of death of fishes. According to sources, the fishery department officials did not take the death of the fishes seriously. None of the officials of Fishery Department visited kalyan  Sagar Lake and tried to find out the real cause of the death of so many fishes.
